about

IRISH MUSIC

In an effort to make a familial / identity-bearing work, O’Neill’s Irish melodies served as accessible territory to explore. This album is a simultaneous homage / critical study on my grandfather William D. O’Brien’s journey from Irishness to whiteness, a survey of Irish culture based on a life in provincial Massachusetts and the fogged lens through which I view the diaspora.
